Weed Control and Fertilization

Warm-Season Turf Program (Bermuda & Zoysia Lawns)

  • Round 1 (Late Winter) — Pre-Emergent and weed control for broadleaf and grassy weed control going into spring.
  • Round 2 (Early Spring) — Pre & Post-Emergent application to control spring broadleaf weeds and Crabgrass.
  • Round 3 (Late Spring) — Time-release, high nitrogen fertilization for quick green-up. Broadleaf and grassy weed control applied as necessary.
  • Round 4 (Early Summer) — Time-release, balanced fertilization to maintain color and promote root health. Any existing weeds will also be spot treated at this time.
  • Round 5 (Late Summer) — Time-release, balanced fertilization to maintain color and promote root health. Any existing weeds will also be spot treated at this time.
  • Round 6 (Early Fall) — Pre-emergent herbicide to control fall broadleaf weed as well as poa annua control. We will also apply a post-emergent weed control at this time.
  • Round 7 (Winter) — Post-emergent weed control to control any remaining winter weeds. Lime will also be applied at this time to balance soil pH.

 

Cool-Season Turf Program (Fescue Lawns)

  • Round 1 (Late Winter) — Fertilization to maintain color as well as Pre & Post-Emergent weed control./li>
  • Round 2 (Early Spring) — Fertilization, Pre & Post Emergent weed control.
  • Round 3 (Late Spring) — Fertilization with Iron to maintain color in warmer months, plus weed control as necessary.
  • Round 4 (Early Summer) — Lime applied to balance soil pH.
  • Round 5 (Late Summer) — High Phosphorus fertilizer to promote new seed development. (*This is the best time to aerate and overseed your Fescue lawn!)
  • Round 6 (Early Fall) — Fertilization to promote new growth and maintain color and overall root health.
  • Round 7 (Winter) — Time-release fertilization to maintain color throughout winter months.
